Just to clarify, Caro is right in that the old site just counted posts, and the number of posts you made on the old system is NOT transferred to this site.

BUT, I can (and will) give you a forum 'title' equivalent to the number of points you had on the old site, on this one. I just need to know the email address you were registered with on the last site, or your forum display name.

On the new system, points are awarded for a number of different activities, including the making a post (but not the length of your post), how many people reply to your post, adding to the wiki, adding to the gallery, and how many people download from the gallery.

What does it mean / what is it worth?
The points system is essentially a trust system. If someone comes on the site spouting dubious information, and they have hardly any points, you might take it with a pinch of salt. On the other hand, you can see that someone with lots of points / title is someone who has contributed lots to the site, and is (probably!) trustworthy.

Beyond that, I may introduce something for high points earners in the future. But that's all down to the size of my wallet (looking a bit thin at the moment, after what I've invested in this site!).

The old vetnurse site is nothing to do with this one, this is a totally different platform. On that there was no points just post counts. You will start from a 0 on here because of the software difference and it is built up from t0 on post counts and points and no one has decided what points mean, inc. Arlo. Maybe nothing at the end of the day.

It could be like the Generation Game where points make prizes!!! Or is that a different programme????

Seriously there is an aswer to this somewhere on this website - I just can't be arsed looking - something to do with the number of people who reply to your thread gives you more points or something along those lines
