Sounds like they are trying to squeeze it into one year but be prepared for it to take longer.
If you have completed level 2 but not passed your exams then you will have until 2012 to re take them.

Re: (another!) question about the new nurse training system

Hi

Have you tried contacting the RCVS or your VNAC for advice? They might be able to help

Here are some links you may find useful

Sorry, not much help x

Re: (another!) question about the new nurse training system

as far as most of us were led to believe, if you were already in your first year, you had another 3 years to do the 2nd year (in the old format).

It's only in the last few days that practices seem to be thinking of scrapping the second year and turning it into the new format. Not sure how colleges will cope with the teaching part, now how the RCV will cope with how the paperwork ties up - for instance the total number of hours you do across the whole course is different between old and new route...

The best thing to do is to ask any prospective practices what they would do with a student who had completed the first year.

It also will depend if you take the exam at the end of the first year or not, and how many TP's remain, or if you got a job in an ATP and not a TP....

I know my situation is bad, not being able to find a place for more than three months in the last 3 1/2 years, but I certainly don't envy people who are part way through but either may have to move practices, or are being told by their practice that they are changing to the new rules or scrapping training totally come next September.
