Everything coming down well & she's looking good!!! Not going to test for Cushings, just keep her on destolit, denamarin & abs for time being. Hopefully she will prove ti us all that she really is immortal!!!

it wont hurt to do an acth stim to rule anything out, have you run pli/tli/folate/cobalamin? if not might be worth doing that as well to just rule all that lot out

Cher doing really well now, back eating her EN and taking her tablets like a little angel! Although she has started pee'ing in the house and can't monitor her drinking as there are 3 dogs in the house. She doesn't seem to be drinking more when we're in but what about when we're out???

Going to take more blood on Friday and possibly get her scanned. Was thinking about Cushings but not sure, although not typical symptoms. What does the panel think???

She's doing pretty well, ate 1 tin of D/D last night - I know its not the best thing but its all she would eat! Stoped the buprecare as it was sedating her more than anything else and today she was first out the door like normal! Hopefully this is her back on track and I'll have her for a long time yet!!!

Hiya - I had Dinky on Hepatosyl when he was first diagnosed with his lymphoma due to liver and spleen and involvement. I was happy with the results but sounds like your doind everything possible for your girl.x

Hi everyone, Cher back in work today on fluids, she was qute dull this morning and had some diarrhoea. She has started eating although only ham and Eukanuba healthy extra biscuits but I working on the premise that anything is good. Keeping going with her augmentin, cerenia, buprecare, denamarin & vivitonin.

Deemus - she was on doxion for about a year, however I changed her in October to Zentonil cos it was palatable (it isn't don't believe the drug company) now have denamarin cos it supposed to be better????? I put her on it cos I was convinced by the rep that if she was on NSAIDs that she would need this to keep her healthier!!!

Only gave her 0.3ml buprecare last night but that nearly knocked her out! Very sedated & sleepy so not sure if I should continue that.....although she needs pain relief for her arthritis!! It's a horrible vicious circle.

I know exactly how your feeling!

My little yorkie x jrt (14yrs old) was ill on Thursday - lethargic, vomiting, diarr., painfull abdo, pyrexic, and like your Cher, appeared in good health before. We ran inhouse bloods which showed ALT = 500+ and ALKP 400+ (nasty surprise), although others were normal. She wasn't dehydrated, or jaundiced so we gave her cerenia inj, metacam inj and clam LA. The vet suspected it was just a virus, and thankfully after 24hrs she seemed back to her old self, although her abdo is still a bit tender. We've sent bloods to an external lab to find out more, and we are probably going to ultrasound her liver. We've also started her on Hills L/D diet for the time being, which she isn't enjoying nearly as much as her Purina, lol.

Not much help, I know - just wanted to let you know your not alone

Did bloods this morning ALKP is down to 1800, ALT is down to 3500 & AMYL is 800 (back in normal range). Kept her at work on fluids all day and brought her home tonight. She is very tired - don't think she slept much in kennel, she is not eating unless its crumbed ham or Euk healthy extra biscuits. Continuing with her meds and will probably put her back onto fluids tomorrow.

She's not anywhere back to normal but hopefully has turned a corner. Hasn't really moved all night until Hannah came home, when she got off sofa, gave a little wag then went back to sofa!

Hows about lactulose?? We've had great results with some patients but not sure how bad the bloods have to be before it warrants administering it? Someone else may know on here.

Bouncyfi, no wonder you are in a daze with the saline, its terrible when its your own animal, I know when my dog is sick, most of my VN training goes out the window, I cant think straight and I am a worried owner in a mess! Hope your cheese woggie is feeling better

It's my idea of a pedigree cross!! Lots of people ask what breed she is so I made it up, Her full title is the Lesser Known Bat-Eared Cheese-hound. But is amazing the people who believe its a real breed!

She is prone to pancreatitis and had a flare up in November, which is why she had bloods then. She's on Purina EN. She's not jaundiced but the plasma was a bit yellow. She is quite sore in her tum which is why I gave her buprenorphine.

Its horrible when its your own houndling, yesterday afternoon I was useless, put her on Hartmanns instead of saline, when I knew that she needed saline!! Couldn't think straight at all!!
