it annoys me that people judge a dogs behaviour on its breed rather than as an individual. we have many adorable staffies, rotties etc that come into the practice. how many people would label a chihuahua or yorkie as a dangerous aggressive dog hardly any i dont think as most people just says its cute!!!!.

Aggression on the whole is caused by irresponsible owners not socialising their pups or training them to be tough macho dogs.

I completely agree with you there Claire.

ANY dog can be nasty if in the wrong hands. We have a rottweiler who comes in regularly for glucose curve & blood samples for his diabetes and he is the nicest Rottweiler I have ever known - he is so good mannered and well behaved, you could take a blood sample on your own without anyone holding him. His name is Prince and he really is a prince!

Think people need to look beyond the breed and realise it's ownership that makes the dog. I have seen MANY an evil Westie, mine however how been bought up with discipline and are two puddings. ANY dog can be nasty in the wrong hands

So true...have seen more nasty JRT/yorkies/many other small breeds!!!

By the way, i have nothing against small dogs! Had a lovely JRT cross in today, soooo cute!

I hate that staffies have such a bad name, I have seen so many lovely staffies actually only seen one naughty one and that was because the owner was a a'hole and had taught it to be like that.

Its sad which ever way you look at it, We had a 18mth old SBT in yesterday for PTS as it had biiten her 2 children on 2 seperate occasions, and a SBT in today who was like a big teddy bear. Depends on the dog and who owns them sadly.

Have seen SO many lovely Staffs, what about ANY nasty dog? shouldn't matter on breed.

It makes me soooooooo . One of my staffords is registered as a Pets as Therapy. One is too young and my boy gives too many snogs at the moment to pass the test.
