I was working in a big building - spread over 3 floors - thats why our crash box was so comprehensive, it had to have everything in it so no time was wasted trying to find stuff

When i was at the hospital we had one of those open stationary things.... that doesnt help does it..... it had a handle and... oh never mind. but for rescues we also had a toolbox, and a paramedic rucksack for cross counrty rescues....

probably doesn't help, i guess we did more off site!!

i should just shuit up really.... lol!

Thanks guys that's really helpful We're going to get a tool box to put it in a think rather than our current trolley.

our crash box was one of the DIY boxes and contained the following atropine vials, adrenaline vials,( liitle tip if you get your adrenaline and atropine vials in those carboard boxes with a plastic tray inside and the plastic tray is sealed with polythene cover take them out and put them in an old pill pot -ceporex pots are the ideal size - just put a little cotton wool in as well to stop them clinking around - its a lot faster to get them out when you really need them quickly and you can put the doses on the outside of the ceporex tub so they are always with the drug) 1 bottle of local 1 bottle of propofol. (rotated every 2 weeks with a fresh bottle if not used.) cat endo tube, 6mm endo tube and 10mm endo tube urinary cath with endo tube connector 1 cat cath (so could be used as endo tube if needed , ambubag. 10 x2ml syringes 5x5ml syringes 5x 10ml syringes 4 x 20mlsyringes, selection of needles ( including some 21g X2 inch)4 of each size iv cannulas and 1 of each size butterfly sets. Fluids = 500ml saline, 500ml hartmanns, 500ml gelafusine, 2 giving sets. Tourniquet or broad elastic band and artery forceps 50mls bottle of surgical spirit , chlohex gel, stethoscope, pair of scissors, roll of tape for i/vs 1 fenestrated drape, packof 10 sterile swabs, small amount of cotton wool 1 vetwrap couple of wow bandgages , 1 very basic stitch kit with 2 wraps of 2/0 vicryl, stapler,1 foil emergency blanket 1 plastic bowl.

think thats about it !!! - know it looks a lot but it all fits well into one of the DIY boxes and covers just about everything . drugs were checked every week minimum or whenever the box was used

so we have adrenaline, atropine, lidocaine, antisedan, Propananol and naloxone, calcuim gluconate

Most emergency drugs don't have any preservative in them and the ones that do donlt last long. The only thing we have pre-drawn up is hep saline! This is changed once a week! the way we have it is that we have some foam with bits cut out and then have the vials out of the boxes ready for use, ie so they can be grabed in a rush! We have enough of each drug for a 50kg dog ready! In fact I'm gonna go photograph it to make it make more sense lol brb.....

Oh and also, what drugs do you keep drawn up? We're not a very busy place (we have our days lol) so don't want to keep to much drawn up that will get wasted.
