I used one for a couple of years prior to my implant for endometiosis. I had major problems as was bleeding 3 out of 4 weeks most the time so otherwise would have got shares in tampax!! It worked great, never leaked at all. Once I got used to it was very easy to use and no spillages!! I would defo recommend them to anyone. Would never go back to tampax again!

Forgot to add you get a little cloth bag to keep them in when not in use. Pre first time use the info is in the little book you get boil for 5mins. If you want some sort of lube then use water or ky jelly (water based lubricants)

It vary's on how heavy you are. They say think about changing from 4.5 hours if heavy and judge from there. I slept in mine overnight and no problems. Could see no reason to get out of a nice warm bed. With the normal setup l would have been up ages before, possibly a couple of hours to change and then dived back into bed trying to warm up. And stressed in the night about movement and leakage so had lousy nights sleep.

Not sure on how you mean on time limit 7 days? you can wear it as long as you have a period. I also checked as l wanted to get used to using them when not "messy" so tried them out before l was on to get used to placing and removal and how they felt.

It also means any art group modelling jobs l can do them as no one will know and l won't have to call in "sick" although l did explain why l was "ill" and the tutor was understanding. It has only happened once but l hated letting people down. (most people won't have this problem)

I heard about these about 4 or 5 years ago and never tried them, but now ive been inspired and have just ordered one!!

Gonna be so awesome not buying tampons again!!

Mmm.. think I'd try them! Makes me mad that we have to buy tampons/pads.. they should be free!! .. this mooncup sounds interesting, esp as you no longer have to buy tampons etc.. it's the cleaning out bit that makes me cringe.. but I suppose we do it everyday in work.. blood, guts, puss etc! why should our own body fluids be different! think i'll give them a go... see if it's as people say. . how often do you have to 'empty ' them? & is there a limit as to how long they are kept in?? safe for 7 days??

I was the same and couldn't work out how but hated tampax as they are hard and often had to use pads as well as so heavy.

The secret to the comfort is the fact it is soft and high up, not long and hard as tampons. And as tampons absorb they enlarge, pressing harder. In mooncups the "liquid" sits in the cup which stays the same size.

It also stresses it is silicone not latex so those with latex allergy's can use it.

I like the idea of not having to buy tampons again but it does make me feel a bit odd. I cant quite see how it wouldnt be felt when wearing it?

Just keep it upright when removing and it is fine. Comfy because it is soft silicone not hard fibre and follows the body contours not set it's own. It wont leak once in even if you stand on your head... yes l did try nearly broke my neck but l was determined to test it.

The thought of it makes me feel a bit funny, don't know why! I don't understand how it doesn't spill all over the place when you take it out? And how it could be comfortable? Maybe one day i'd be brave enough to try...
