Both dogs fell through and sadly he only managed to get 1 out. Just serves as a reminder for us all to be extra careful at the moment.
Had a close-ish shave with Dotty at the weekend..... was walking around a lake as usual and she was sniffing around as usual and just followed her nose onto the ice and kept on following it...... I called and called her but she took no notice... the smell of ducks, geese and swans was far more alluring.... nothing happened... she is only 6kg and she came back in her own time but I can see how it can happen and if the ice had been softer/melting etc then it may have been a different story... my heart was in my mouth.

I remember last year my ex took his springer out for a walk (off the lead, much to my disapprovement and I told him this) because of the ice I said he should be on a lead as he's bad off the lead anyway, and he ran in the resevoir and skidded across ice almost falling into a broken bit, the ice was cracking below him.
