When i met my bf, the first time it happened in front of him was when we were out so thought i was just drunk but i explained to him he didnt believe me! He does now! But it happens when i drink fizzy juice and alcohol regardless how fast or slow i drink them, sooo horrible! I get really embrassed aswell. Esp when your out and you can't stop it, people presume you are rude!

They think it's down to stress and something neurological, or even possibly something to do with nerve damage! Very strange they had him on anti-psychotics and all sorts of meds to try to get him to stop with no luck. they come and go and sometimes he said they were so bad he couldn't eat or sleep properly. I can't imagine. When i get the hiccups i get them really strong and they make me burp and sometimes vomit in my mouth. it's very unpleasant they used to be worse when i was singing more and my diaphragm was stronger.

Re: The man who can't stop hicupping

I was going to say brain tumour too Fi.... hiccups are a major symptom of those...if you are doing it continuous that is

Re: The man who can't stop hicupping

i know i couldn't believe it when i heard that!
