Ohh lot faster camera than samsung mine is up to 3-5 seconds depending on the light, possibly a bit longer. Ok having a great phone but if you keep missing the photos.

the camera isnt too bad id say about 1 second from pressing picture button to taking. Internet is pretty fast at home mines really fast same as broadband as its linked with my wireless when im out if I have good signal it works pretty fast too if I have 3g signal it pretty much like having wireless. if the signal is on 1-2 bars then its quite slow but it does still load if you're patient

well l am swaying more and more to iphone just photos sticking point. my internet is very slow but it is not wifi which l understand is quicker assuming you are near a hotspot.

I will be stuck with this till about mid february - think thats when first upgrade as we have 2 phones so will look at this as a learning curve.

Internet is super speedy and pages load in no time, photos take a few seconds as the camera isn't the quickest!

Sarah your pic has turned out really well actually, haven't used mine outside yet

Thanks Sarah thats not to bad. I do 99% of my pics indoors and my old K750i had no flash but l got samsung as it has that option but dont use it loads.

I am now internet active, took some techie help they had to send me some coding and all now working. I need to get used to how slow it is, but l am used to cable internet at high speed. Also have to get used to sizing and layout l know just a time job.

How fast is the iphone on taking photos (Samsung takes forever to grab it) and how fast is the internet?

I love my iphone! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! use the internet on it all the time and the emails. i love the big screen and its very easy to use, the only problem is the camera quality isnt great but the pics dont look too bad when loaded onto the comp. this is a pic i took while in traffic not moving.... with my phone and I dont htink its too bad

You could use internet radio? And also some stations have their own applications so you can listen that way! The internet on the iPhone and I would think the Blackberry too is much faster and better quality than standard phone browsing. I am biased though, I love my iPhone and can't imagine having anything else

Have rung up and had my phone put on unlimited internet will take 24hrs to action they said. I figure then l can give it a go and see if l use it or what seems the most sensible first step, no point going overboard if l hate using the net on the phone

Yup but iphone does have internal 16gb and 32gb memory. The blackberrys have no radio l looked at them as they do have good write ups l was miffed liked the look of them

Camera on the iPhone is not that exciting and you can't put in a memory card. My Blackberry has most of the things you ask..except battery but then I would normally charge my phone every night anyway!

Thanks Maisy l use the camera a lot at work my problem is I want the perfect phone... big touch screen, camera 8mg+, flash, autofocus, alarm and snooze button, radio, lots of memory and/or able to take my 4gb card, good phone, nice contacts list, good connection, long battery life, good internet, easy to use l know there is a few other things.

I am thinking iff cost allows on upgrade l will look at ip3 s and l get 14days trial so l can give it a good test hammering.

In the meantime will get the internet bolt on and see how l use the internet if l don't l can reconsider the phone choice.

But please keep info coming as l am undecided on what to do the above is subject to change.

I think the freezing screens were a problem with the older 3G phones, my cousin had this one and it happened to him a lot. The newer phone isn't meant to have this problem and so far I haven't encountered it. Downside would be the camera, its not great. My old Samsung had really good quality phots and you do notice that pictures aren't as good quality on the iPhone. That said its fine for just odd pictures as you can get a Photoshop application to improve the quality slightly, that's what I've done and works pretty well. I just remember to take my digital camera if I know I'll be taking pictures I want to keep like on holiday.

The iPod works well though-you can get the 8 and 16 gb ones and once your music is on there they play just like a radio so you don't always need earphones.

Thanks for that and other comments that come in. I went into the 02 shop today to get their magazine and so l can start researching. So far the iphone s has the vote but l have read a lot about freezing screens but apparently there is a patch can be downloaded if this happens.

What do you think of the camera Maisy? l use mine a lot, at the moment have an 8mg on my samsung and a 3mg (l think iphone?) is a big drop. The guy in the shop said there is no flash and not good on dark shots. Have you noticed any problems?

I did look at blackberry's but they do not have radio on and l do like radio4 when cleaning, even though l have my John Edmunds music on if needed.

According to o2 if l want unlimited acces on iphone it is £8/month so that is not bad at all. On other phones it is £6/month l thought it was a fortune so we have always avoided internet on the phone.

I got an iPhone 3GS (newest one) a month ago and really couldn't live without it! Screen size is good for email/internet, and the keyboard is a qwerty one so pretty easy to use. So many applications if you're after those as there are lots of useful ones as well as games/maps/music etc.

I mainly wanted the phone for the internet as when I'm locuming I can't always check emails etc so it is perfect for that. It also saves space instead of charrying round iPod/phone etc. Love it!

I'd love an iphone might look into it when the price comes down, also the blackberry are worth a look too, cos I kno you don't like touch screen

I have samsung Tocco which has a relatively large screen, using the volume controls on side of the phone during internet access increases or decreases size of txt

my friend has one (he's a script editor for tv and film) and he has his whole life on it. 2 email accounts, every 'showbiz' contacts phone numbers, email addresses and postal addresses. I spent a weekend with him last year and he took great delight in showing off its fabulously fast internet connection compared to my crappy Nokia 5800. I might get one when my upgrade is due in novemeber as my i pod is full and old (2nd gen nano). the screen is a good size although the text was nornal size (maybe this could be changed?)

I have the T-Mobile G1 (google phone) and use the net all the time on it

It's great. Couldn't live without it now.

Never really noticed the screen size for surfing net, obv bigger the better ()

I'm always using Google on my phone to determine if me or boyfriend are right during debate lol or Google Maps if I'm out and about
