Just for a laugh I thought I'd share this. When I arranged to transfer my service to my new home a toyal of 5 different BT employee's tried to sell me Vision!!! I rather enjoyed pointing out exactly what I thought of it! Still, you would think BT would keep a record of everything on my account given all the issues!

OMG!!! Thats such a scam!! you should have no problems in suing them, esp as like you say; product was not as described, never mentioned cancellation fee etc sounds like they were very persuasive in selling the product to you, they failed to mention the terms and conditions! - saying that, did you have to sign any paperwork or was it all done over the phone? as T&C can be printed very small, but a phone convo, they must tell you the T&C!! .. If the contract was done verbally, then like sal said. see if the conversation was recorded..

it was my boyfriend who got us involved with the scamming pricks!! GRRR!!!

But i hope to god this thread at least stops someone else getting involved with them!! They are such a CON! GRRR They tried to ge tus to stick around by offering a 44p disocunt a month..... well great that is a really help! Man i hate them and shall not go bk to BT EVER!!

They sound well dodgy, my fella has just got bt vision, i told him he should have got virgin cable but he wouldnt listen. typical boy.

His is £7.50 a month for the tv with just the on demand stuff and like sky plus type thing so he can record stuff off the tv, they did try and flog him some film channel and sports for 15quid but he said no to that. Still with the phone and internet is 25quid plus then the 7.50 for the tv thats over 30quid a month which is almost as much as skys basic package and virgin is only 20quid for internet tv and phone!! Why do boys never listen and always think they know best??!!!

No I went through trading standards and eventually it got returned to them etc.... Thank god. It's a shame really cos they are fab for my BB and phone!

No I went through trading standards and eventually it got returned to them etc.... Thank god. It's a shame really cos they are fab for my BB and phone!

I know!!! If am totally honest we were a lil stupid when we first got it and never really understood wht we signed up 4! Am aware of it now we pay £35 each and i always grudge it!

But we are off to sky, for variety pack (sky 1 yay) and the knowledge pack (Animal plannet and history channel yay) and our broadband (A tenner compared to the current £25!!)

all in we are 46 quid!! So 23 each! am saving 12 quid a month... happy days!!

So happy to finally get rid of the stupid thing, only a few weeks yay!!

So Rainbow you still got their tv? how much are they charging u a month? They are so cunning in not totally explaining wht the hell there charges are!!

Well they are now taking £2 or so a month for it - we sent it back and everything but they refused to admit any fault in the way it was sold or anything - still not overly impressed lol !!!

rainbow when you originally spoke to BT was there at any time anyhting in the call that said that calls may be recorded - if so ask for a transcript or a recording of that call, but guess trading standards might do that anyway. If you get no joy with trading standards get in touch with BBC Watchdog - you may well find you are not the only one with this problem.

And just to make everybody aware of another con Natwest Home insurance - you pay for a policy that at minium insures your property for a million - even if your property is worth considerably less you still pay for the million cover as a basic. There are now so many exclusions on it in the small print you have a cat in hells chance of getting anything out them should you need to claim . they tell you they can offer you a good deal as a valued customer of the bank yeah sure

I have bt vision. The broadbands great no problems. But like you they pushed for vison and told us all free setanta and movies and all tht.

What do we have?

Freeview, picturebox with the great non films ever made and the tv part. I like the tv part where u can watch cis, number, 30 rock etc.

But for the price of £70 a month for freeview a phone and tv which aint great, i'd agree bt vision is the biggest con of them all!

Our contracts up in March, so think we are off to sky for the lot!

The best part of bt as a company, if we extend the contract 6 months, we save 10p a month

wel tht mean i can buy a dairy milk bar from the shop with 60p saved!

I agree stay away from bt!!
