Am at college one day a week doing my level 3, and really enjoying it still - hard work though!! However due to this winters weather, an hours drive away and a slightly dodgy old car I have now

Re: Missing college due to weather...

I have just started my level 3 this week after getting my level 2 results last week (woo-hoo). I had quite a rough year for level 2 with my little boy being seriously ill in hospital for 5 weeks, but I did the same as others have said and read around subjects. College also let me have the notes through email. I then also had 3 weeks off when I got married. This caused a few problems with my attendance as it then dropped below 80%, but as my exam marks had been consistently high throughout the year this did not become a problem. Good luck with level 3!!!

Re: Missing college due to weather...

I cant get to my college due to the weather but im on the degree course so im meant to be at college three days a week and as im in my last year im meant to be doing my dissertation study and cant as i cant get to college

does your college not have their own intranet, which is accessed by students and staff only, we have it and tutors just post relevent missed notes and work on there and without , god knows i'd be so behind!

Im not risking going in thats for sure!

Re: Missing college due to weather...

Is there any chance they can email out your notes?

My college was closed this week because of the weather and they emailed us our exam papers and if they are closed next week then they will email out the notes so we dont get to far behind. Anything we dont understand they will disscuss over the phone or when we can next get there.

Yeah, I had a prong on the ice and my poor little car took a bit of a beating, this weather is rubbish!

Re: Missing college due to weather...

Yes, luckily I have a rather invaluable book to look at that I am sure is helping keep me on track

Thanks, I'm just feeling a bit miserable after the past week of treacherous driving to work, missing college, bashing car etc!! Yep have a timetable so going to look through some of the things that have missed, see what college say on Monday and go from there I think

You could see if the tutor can email/fax you your work so you can keep up to date with what your missing-do you have a timetable so you know what is being covered each week? If so, read through notes/nursing textbooks on the subjects so you have some knowledge of each area.

Try not to worry though!
