a wee update on my nearly skinny boy!

We switched to moderate calorie but the weight loss is the same even with him exercising a wee bit more but awell we will get there!!

He is a shiny new weight of 7.2 kgs!! so hes lost half of what heeds to to be "healthy"! Hopefully we will get there!!Slowly but surely!! 0.2kgs a month just seems so slow!! I guess i just need patience!!

Think i will try and get it next time. Just got a 1.5kg bag the now and that should last him 3 months he gets that little of it!

Aw am so happy he will no longer be a tubby urine cat hehe!!

If you do try it would be interesting to know if you find it any good. I never even knew about it until i went to order a bag of the normal urinary and saw it on the computer! So i presume a lot of people at work don't know about it either. I'll mention it to them, in case we get a tubby urine cat...which is quite likely!

My "little fat b*tch" aka Maya has lost 2kg in 2 months. Start weight was nearly 25kg!!! after her ops and my broken (still broken since May) ankle.

Shes on RC canine obesity

Should be fed 6months minimum. I don't see why he couldn't be on moderate calories? esp if he needs to lose some weight.

How old is he? the only contraindication I could see is

"In older cats, renal function should be checked before Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie is prescribed"

Not recommended in cases of:

- Pregnancy, lactation, growth

- Chronic renal failure, metabolic acidosis

- Heart failure

- Hypertension

- Use of urine-acidifying drugs

the biscuits yeah? no because when i asked about it they were so much confusion that he is still on the high stuff! kind of annoying but we were considering testing urine anyways to see if he can go on 2 obesity food! But as he is losing might wait and see how he goes!

I just realised the other day, they do a low calorie royal canin urinary...is that what he's on now? I was ordering a bag of the normal urinary and noticed the low cal on our ordering system.

Erm yes, but owner compliance isn't perfect. I love her to bits (recepionist) and she swears blind she's not feeding any more, giving in , etc etc. the usual, but I hear her telling clients she does.

The nurse who deals with Luka made me so guilty when we got him weighed! the thing is he put 2kg on in the space of 7 months because of urinary food and i realy don't feel i spoil my kitties with food so much that the weight gain was my fault. Even on his diet he is allowed a handful of catnip a week, i know hes fat and needs to lose but he will get his treats because I feel it's only fair really. He also gets rewards for playing and doing things well. He will keep losing weight though! Hes such a long cat that if i see him at 6.5kg then i will be happy!

I guess it's just showing her how happy the cat will be when it's skinny. THe difference in my Luka is crazy, hes a diff cat now! He plays now which i have never got to see!

there was a little westie in the waiting room today barking away because of Luka. To be honest I think Luka could probably take on the westie hes viscious when he wants to be!!

Am just loving the new Luka and enjoying discovering what he enjoys when playing. Since we got him hes been "big" hes never really played. The new Luka is fun and i can't wait till hes skinny and playful hehe!
