It is a fair amount of work but it is very worth it! I'd be glad to answer any questions on the application process and examination if that is helpful.

However if we want the certification then it says we have to sit an exam which is over in usa and so would be impossible for most of us to get to is there any way around it?

I couldn't consider doing it at the moment as it is not cheap but there is also the fact if l can not sit the exam l may be better just joining the organisation.

Any advice on the exam situation please. Have to admit l did not read every pdf so perhaps l missed something l just read the checklist, also you ask for original documents and l would not send originals it is to far and risky.

Re: Invitation to join the International Veterianry Academy of Pain Management

Good Morning!

The membership to the IVAPM is open to anyone... credentialed or not. We absolutely support unlicensed persons broadening their knowledge of pain recognition and treatment as much as the Veterinary Surgeon and Nurse and are included in full membership privileges.

The only caveat is the certification process, to become a CVPP (Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner), which is only open to those holding a veterinary license or veterinary nursing/technician license, however.

I do hope you consider joining the IVAPM. The ListServe is an amazing resource and the sharing of information and techniques is a perfect learning environment. As for the journal subscription, you can add this on to your membership at any time as it does not have to be at the beginning of your 'sign up'

Hope that helps! Please let me know if I can answer any further questions.

Best,

Do you need to be an RVN. I will hopefully be one in 2 weeks!
