Had a bit of an arguement with Graham but otherwise everything OK. Stayed indoors today, still in jammies now!!

I hate new year hence why I worked both new years eve and day last year. However this year my bf took me to disneyland Paris and I had a great time! All the rides were open late and then everyone was in front of the castle dancing to music so was like a big disco! When midnight came they put on a great firework show. Was a really good atmosphere and I didn't even have a drop of alcohol!

i actually had a good new years eve! :D a few friends and the bf and it was actually really really nice! :D Freezing cold but really good haha!

I have a pathological fear of 31st January now

2006 - tree blew down in my garden, missed my house & especially daughter's bedroom by approx 5"

2007 - Bonnie damaged her only back leg - spent the next 3 months carrying her everywhere, trying every treatment we could, seeing every specialist orthopaedic surgeon and living with the fear of her being PTS'd.

2008 - Blossom was PTS'd after 4 months of fighting kidney disease.

I would like to stay in bed today and wake up safely in 2010 with nothing bad happening!!! Unfortunately I've got to work today and never managed to take dogs out yesterday, so definitely need to walk today.....maybe I could wrap them all in cotton wool!!!

Only new years l liked were in tenerife. We would go up to Adeje and they had a salsa band in the square, lot of drunks everyone happy no nasty, police drunk one copper helping his female colleague to stay upright... hard when he was a sozzled as her, her hat had l think been used as a football and she was happily blowing the ribbon out of her face. Come midnight loads of fireworks and it all winds down.

I normally stay in for new year, but this year we are off to Scotland to see relatives and go to a Hogmany!

I too hate NYE and always have done.

I've only enjoyed two in the last 20 years - the Millenium when I was Y2K project manager for the port of dover and had to work till 4am watching over the harbour and waiting to see if any computers failed:
and last year when I was on nights as a vet nursing auxilliary - we kept hearing noises from the pub along the road, noticed at 11:50pm that a cat had blown its cannula, so were busy taking that out when the cheers went up in the pub...so we missed the countdown and did we care??? Nope!

this year it will be in front of the telly, trying to ignore the time..... this year will not be as bad, as I am one of those "odd" people who feel that when a loved one (animal or human) has died, that as the year changes, I am somehow leaving them behind .... silly, but that's me.... and this year although we have lost a few friends, we have not lost family members or animals (says se fingers crossed for the next 27 hours)

Next year I hope to have started and got on well in my NHS job and so will volunteer to work - although maybe I will have also managed to start training as a SVN again, in which case I will also volunteer if the practice does its own on call.

I'll be a 'boring' one too...will prob be on here or watching tv! With a cider/wine in hand of course I like new year cos i've got new years day off...any excuse for a day off is fine by me!!!

Am not a fan of the festive season at all! New year is rubbish though! People who you don't see wishing you all the best and all that crap!

This year we are going out to georges square and stuff! I don't want to go but as "everyone" is going i sort of said yeah! be home b4 1 tho and in bed by half 1! I want to stay in! Am dreading it! It will be cold, people will be drunk, and i hate crowds! Regretted saying yes since I got the stupid tickets! ahh ihate new year!!

I dont do NYE, I like being in bed and asleep before the bloody bells......... but I make up for it new years day, usually have lots of family and friends over from lunchtime onwards, last year was great, we had a jamming session goijng on in the kitchen with my friends hub who plays guitar, then usually head to my cousins at night for more alcohol and games, usually the latest quiz game

Can't stand new year! Hence the reason I'm working! Just don't really get what there is to celebrate unless you've had a seriously rubbish yr but even still whats to say the next yrs going to be any better. Hopefully i'll be able to join the in front of telly being boring - probably asleep before midnight!!

Yes, why is it neccessary to get utterly wasted on a specific date?! You can do it any weekend! I hate the enforced jollity and the fakeness of all the people slabbering their germs over you wishing you a happy new year when they blanked you last week and will do so again!

Yet if you do choose to ignore it and sit infront of the telly etc you are classed as boring.
