Fiona - thanks for the offer. I would most likely drive though as I don't finish work until circa 5pm so by the time I get to Edinburgh train station it is getting a bit too late. Also, I have a dog that really hates being on his own so it is easier just to bring him and leave him in the car than to try and find a minder/make sure the housemate is staying in.

If you ever go by train opr bus, I'll pick you up at the station cos it's only 2 minutes from my house. you can phone me if you need to!
