My mum got a Samsung netbook for her birthday and she's got this problem with the small snail, so I had worked it out for her tonight and was coming on to tell you!! She also can't find the £ sign........any help????

My boss rang me from her consult room today n I answered the phone to which she said "Help, I've had a disaster" so I went through and she'd been on the phone to a client whilst typing away and managed somehow to rotate the screen 90degree everything was on its side lol.

Managed to sort it. bloody technology lol

I got the Dell Inspiron mini netbook for Christmas and I've had no problems with any of the keys, even throughout the start up ( and I did try to *** that up but it was completely foolproof!!)

I would take it back though.

Here is some useless information about the @ sign

The @-sign has different names in different languages: In England it is called at-sign or commercial at, in Germany Klammeraffe (hanging monkey), in France arobas or petit escargot (small snail), in Spain arroba (an entity for weight) and in Italy chiocciolina (small snail)

does it give a different symbol?

if so then might be set for US or other keyboard

START followed by CONTROL PANEL followed by KEYBOARD will allow you to test which keyboard you have set and to test the keys

Not got a netbook but assume it's an integral keyboard like an ordinary laptop.

If it doesn't work at all then I'd take it to the shop tomorrow as taking keys off etc when it's brand new is not right - and currently the item is not fit for purpose unless it's a configuration option rather than hardware

It's probably set up to american keyboard

Try pressing the button that makes quote marks " " mine is next to the enter key
