Thanks for all your replies guys, I have just finished packing everything up here at the parents and am preparing to set off home soon, gotta pick my big babies up before i go home....can't bear the thought of going home to no cats!!

chin up - you gave her the best you could and i am sure she will never be far away - will always be in your thoughts and while they might be tearful now time will make it easier for the memories of happier times to come through

we all have that one special pet - that one that will be with us forever no matter what.

my dear pooch passed almost 3 years ago, but she is still with me, and i still burst into tears at the most innapropriate (sic) moments when i think of her. i have other pets, but though i love them, she was my 'one'

however, i can now look back and enjoy the memories - it took a while - it isn't easy - but let yourself grieve, and in time you will be able to laugh at the memories - it seems impossible now, i know, but time is a great healer - cliche' but true.

at the time, someone told me i had a pooch shaped hole in my heart - only pooch could fill it, and she was gone - that hole is now filled with wonderful memories, but at the time it felt like my heart had been ripped out -like i said, the pooch shaped hole is now filled by wonderful memories - i still miss her, but i know i did the right thing, and i gave her the dignity she deserved.

think of rainbow bridge :)

Hey,

Tears are fine, let them come. Don't try to bottle it up, let your emotions out, people will expect that. Try to spend your time remembering the good times with Poly, and cuddle your other kitties.

Poly is at peace now, playing and eating yummy food with the other animals at rainbow bridge.

thanks guys (not sure who will see this till after xmas) it is still so hard for me, thought i was coping till i heard "last xmas" on the kareoke at a neighbours and burst into tears

I dont know how i am going to get thru new yr let alone the whole f next yr without my baby girl. i know i have meg and tux but poly had an extra something about her

I apologise if i spell something wrong tonight but i have given in to alcohol so i dont really know what i am saying/spelling!!

I am so proud of you for your brave decision to give her peace and rest at last - the right decision at the right time and she will be so grateful for your love and help all her life.
