Have never managed to set fire to something unintentional yet - unless you count eyebrows when I ran out of fire lighters and used a smidge too much methanol -but can give you another top tip for sweeping the chimney discovered quite by accident VERYeffective.

I have been plagued with wood pigeons sitting on the chimney - coo bloody coo at daft am. No longer owning a gun, and not wanting to buy new windows if I borrowed somebody elses. I came up with the genius idea of letting a banger off in the grate to scare the little bleeders away. Lot cheaper than a chimney sweep but still got the bloody pigeon - on to plan B

Funnily enough. a couple of us were discussing how gadgetman might have to evolve into a version of the Darwin Awards, given that the most popular films seem to be the ones where I cock things up! Setting the hedge ablaze would be contender.

brilliant . Glad you survived being eaten by the hedge because I'm looking forward to next review. Those brush cutters need muscles - top tip from somebody who lacks the muscle strength . Check the area for wildlife thoroughly, make sure next door don't have washing on the line or wait for them to fire up the bbq so they don't notice. Use the petrol that you would have used in the brush cutter to lightly spray/marinate the bit you need to get rid of , lighted taper and stand well back and if it hasn't taken your eyebrows it will definitely take out the brush with the exception of brambles and ground elder you may need to resort to nuclear if you have those. Minimum effort and jobs a good un. Very much doubt I would even be able to lift the hedge cutter.

can I book my dog in to have his dew claws trimmed

yep no problem I can book you in to nurses clinic on Thursday and I will do them for him

ok then lets get him booked in to see the vet

2nd one - we needed the weight of her cat and she refuses to bring it in for weighing 'its ok I've weighed her myself she is 11kg '

do you mean 11lbs?

a year ago when lockdown started this cat weighed 3.5kg - think this cat might have slightly misunderstood the message of hands (paws) face (as in feed your face) space (definitely a lot less of that in the basket if it weighs 11kg)

pointed a friend of mine in the youtube direction as he thinks he will give the selfie haircut a bash, having seen how close a cut he has ended up with yours was really good. As he puts it there's snow on the way so he won't look out of place in a hat for a few weeks ( at the mo is alternatively known as the prat in the hat or tufty)

Not sure I'm all that cracked about Cats' Protection's choice of name for the cat on the front cover of its latest information booklet ...
