Like i said im just on a rant probably, and am so eager to qualify!

When i do get to help out with important care, it reminds me why im doing this!

Re: ANA tasks

Do you do much work with inpatients? Practices I've worked at with dedicated ANA's will often get them to do a lot of the ward work so feeding, grooming, exercising etc. I agree it can be a bit mundane if cleaning is all your job entails so maybe have a word with your head nurse to see how the practice uses ANAs where you work.

Re: ANA tasks

I understand that there is alot of cleaning involved in the ANA training but iv seen days when ive gone in and all i've done from 9 - 5 is clean!! We'll hold a cat or dog for bloods when theres no one else around and assist on the home visits. But that is it, we dont get to sit in on ops! Im probably just over reacting and having a rant but i thought id find out what other people think!

Re: ANA tasks

Really it depends on how your practice follows schedule 3. The BVNA site does clarify the role of an ANA, but basically you would find assisting the vets/VNs, reception, cleaning kennels etc to be a major part of your role. Were you told this when you were given the job?
