Hee hee, I stuck my finger in my dinner on sunday night to see if was hot - it was, it burnt my finger, so I stuck my finger into my mouth to get rid of the burny stuff and ... yes burnt my tongue!! So I doubt a dog would learn a lesson if I can't!!

good! I burnt my mouth today eating hot pizza mmmmm and that was painful! so I cant imagin how painful that poor little pup was!

He was ill for about three days just kept him on fluids. He then started drinking water and went on to eat mush. Hes absolutley fine now i think the reason he was so bad was because they had the sausages in a roasting dish with fat and he pinched it straight out of that.

it makes me cringe thinking about it

the only reason im panicking is because we had a westie referred about a month ago that had horrific burns to its oesophagus as it stole a sausage straight from the baking tray. Ouch.....

im sure he would be showing more of a reaction if he had burnt himself plus he has been eating snow all day so maybe he fancied something warm

I wouldn't worry, maybe feed soft foods for a day or two but most dogs are pretty resilient to this! My old dog used to pinch all sorts of hot food if it fell on the floor and he must have had an oesophagus of steel as it never bothered him

if you were a client i would say not to worry - just make sure he is eating and drinking ok

the number of times i have eaten a red hot slice of pizza!!! especially when drunk! hot chips have NOTHING on hot cheese

seriously - i am sure he will be fine if he seems happy in himself
