&lt;p&gt;I reared a hoglet once - Sonic (chose by my other half!) and found getting a/d into him easier by using the little nozzles you used to able to get with canaural drops? Have a fine blunt ended tip, which is very mimick-like of a mum&amp;#39;s teat.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Worked a treat; he came to me as a bald squealing thing, left me at the end of the summer that year weighing nearly 700g, released at a friend vet&amp;#39;s house out in the countryside &lt;img src="http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/emoticons/new/Happy_smiley.png" alt="Smile" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Sometimes hedgehogs respond better to this than with syringes so might be worth a try. &lt;/p&gt;
