I find self-hypnosis CD&amp;#39;s are very relaxing, plus they can programme all sorts of useful things into your subconcious while you relax ie stop smoking, gain confidence, etc. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Try not to think too much as this can often exacerbate the problem. It&amp;#39;s hard at first but try to concentrate on your breathing or on some music rather than how much you need to sleep and how annoying it is that you can&amp;#39;t. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Failing that, i&amp;#39;ve often found that replaying one of my fave albums in my head does the trick. I think it&amp;#39;s because it takes the emphasis off my sleep prob and lets me relax properly. &lt;p&gt;mix them with a little almond oil and put some on your wrists or spritz some on your pillow with a spray bottle before you want to lie down. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When you get into bed lie in a comfortable position and begin to consentrate on your breathing. inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. each time holding in the breath at the top of the inhale lifting your chest and then relaxing and lowering it as you exhale. As you begin this breathing I want you to imagine a triangle. Imagine you are going up the triangle and holding at the point and then back down the other side, back up the triangle and then back down... continue this. I don&amp;#39;t usually need to do it for very long before i fall asleep. :) I find a quiet room is best and the darker the better.
