I don't know whereabouts in the country you are but Harper Adams in Shropshire has recently had the Dip AVN validated (which we expect will be completed in 2 years) and we also now offer a part-time BSc (Hons) top up degree (expect to be completed in 4 years).

Our Diploma page is: http://www.harper-adams.ac.uk/undergraduate/course.cfm?id=120&course_area=Animals

Our degree page is: http://www.harper-adams.ac.uk/undergraduate/course.cfm?id=119&course_area=Animals

Feel free to get in touch if you would like more info.

Good luck deciding where you want to go and what you'd like to study!!

So now just need to decide whether to go for top up degree or wait a year longer which I don't think I want to do. Thanks for your info Maisy. At the moment there is only Myerscough college that the RCVS have allowed to run the DipAVN, though there are certain modules of the RVC diploma you can transfer if you want to do the additional study for DipAVN.

The only time you need to attend the college is during the compulsory study week at the start of the course, and then for exams though you can attend any other time if you want to use college facilities. The course is all done online and all assignments are emailed so cuts down on postage/attendance! It is a Level 3 HE course so the first module is all about academic writing, referencing etc as assignments are university standards of writing but then you get onto the good stuff! As long as you are in an equivalent of a tier 2 practice you would be able to do the course.

Would definitely recommend, good luck with whatever you decide!
