He chatting away to himself even now!! I think he will become quite a friendly little chap! He goes to bed with us now too - in his cage of course!!

well, little Charlie seems happy enough - to an extent I guess. He chirps away in his cage when the boys are playing or when there is plenty happening around him. We always make sure to have him in the same room as we are in.

Cannot get as far as him sitting for us to pick him up, but plenty of time for that!

Boys want another one for company but I am not so sure!

Sarah, it would be fab if Charlie became clingy and more friendly as the boys would love that! Will see how he gets on this week!

Im so sorry for your loss, I have quite a limited knowledge on budgies but I think you can introduce them very very slowly but still no guarentees, I have heard from clients who own budgies that when one of their budgies dies the other one became very clingy to them and providing they gave it enough attention it worked really well. Another client got a new budgie within a week and her thinking was that if the budgie got used to being on its own then its really hard to introduce another one to it so it is best to do it ASAP. hope this helps and also if anyone knows better please correct me as I am just going on client hear say....

I don't really know a lot about birds but I'm guessing budgies like company, hence why people give them mirrors so they don't think they are by themselves. Maybe see how he gets on by himself and if he does seem really lost then get him a new friend.
