Bless him, I sat him down and told him I had something important to tell him, & that bert & elma had gone up to heaven - well, it was like someone had turned on a tap, the tears he produced were huge .. I cried too, only because he was that upset. He didnt ask how, he just said 'was it because they were old?' & I just agreed.. thought better tell him that than say that the cat he adores might have killed them!! - oh love him, he cried in school too, but when he came home, he was fine.. he accepted it pretty quickly!

oh I'm so sorry, when I was a child I had gerbils one called chloe who I adored! when she died my parents sat down togerther and told me, I was devistated but mum got out all our photos of her and we talked about her then we had a mini funeral for her. Get him to try and write what he liked mose about them i think it really helps
