My practice won't do that, only 8-7 with extended lunch break. It bugs the hell out of me coz i'd like to do a load of washing in the morning so it can start drying!

Also, Finnegan- i was at Aldershot on Sunday too- nearly got run over in the car park and whacked my knee on a Audi's tow bar on the way into the exam! I started with radiography- forget to put a wedge under the sternum and the word iscium went so far from my mind I only remembered it a day later. The vetergesic one was ok the I had fluids which was ok, then bandaging which was being marked by my I/V- i didn't go up high enough on the leg. Next was gloving- why it had to be closed gloving i have no idea but the less said about that the better! anaesthetics, instruments and lab went ok I think! Roll on January 21st- best of luck and fingers crossed!

would love 8-4 but not 9-5.... but wouldnt do a different job i love it way too much!

I second that!!! I'm on 8-5 this week fine going to work shite coming home! My 1st day in my new job is 9-5!!! means leaving at least an hour and a half to get to Burnley! Joys!

Hoping my proper shifts will be either 8-4 or 12-8!

I got up this morning at 6.30 am, to travell to Aldershott to take my practical exam for the second time, it was cold, very dark and i was stressed having been up most of night revising, i arrived early so i could sit in a freezing cold car park alone to squeeze more last minute revision in, i then took the exams again, messed up my vetergesic calculations, and forgot to cover the end of a sharp instrument for packing, left feeling a total failure and questioning what the hell am i doing!!!!! so yes at the moment a 9-5 job sounds fantastic!!!!!! is it all worth it i ask myself.

I just wish I had a job (well other than my couple of hours or so a week charity vet clinic job) - of any sort of hours, and with any sort of problems that I could whinge about.....

After orginally thinking a 9-5 job would be boring Ive changed my mind.

Worked 9.00-5.30 yesterday, call out 8.00-10.15pm, back at 3am til 4.15am for inpatient check then back in for a full day 9-5 today. Still got a full nights on call to go and mon/tues/wed 8 hr days.
Roll on thursday, forst day of 5 off!

And the poor dog died anyway

9-5pm would be great, and I wish lots of times that was all I had to work! Dont think it will ever happen though - not in this lifetime

i am currently on day 7 of a potential 12 day stretch...I have thursday off and potentially friday but thats only cos i am lucky!!

sometimes yes...but i do actually love shift work because when you start work later in the day it means you can do stuff before work like shop when the shops are quiet.
