I recently started my job this year on 01/06/2009 and I now feel like handing in my notice as I have become very subdued and miserable at work. I feel like I am being bullied as one vet hates me as I

Re: Help!
the best advice someone gave me when i was in a stressful situation was to do your job to the best of your abilities exceed all expectations and do it with a smile on your face. bullies only carry on if they think they are affecting you. be determined dont let the vs get the better of you hun.

Sounds about right! I find that ppl who pick on others have something wrong in their own lives and have to take it out on someone else! I've had several people like this in the past!

Re: Help!
You must look after yourself, if you havent got your health its not funny. And mental health is oh so important. Give any of us a shout if you want to talk. I think its better to talk if poss as in my experience bottling it up is not good for you.

Re: Help! I agree with the suggestions above. You could also try asking one of the other nurses to sit in on any meetings you have so you don't feel so alone. BVNA have great advice on these situations for members too.

The others are right - your health HAS to come first. We all spend the majority of our time at work, life is too short to spend that time being made to feel the way you do.

I hope you get something sorted, it would be a shame for you to leave your job because of this. Maybe they would be aorund when you tried to speak to the people involved to give you a bit of back up.

Its very unproffesional behaviour and you shouldnt have to put up with it, especially if your health is being affected.
Is there just one owner of the practice? Ideally you would go to your head nurse with these problems then they would 'fight your case' with management.

Re: Help!
She sounds awful! Do you enjoy your job at this practice otherwise? I've worked with some less than ideal people who like belitting others, and if it was happening by several members of staff for something such as personal illness, I'd probably just give up on it. There are other practices out there where you would be treated with more respect than that!

If you do decide to try and work through it for now, remember to consider your health first and foremost regardless of what others think.

Re: Help!
Is there anyone at work you oculd speak to such as your head nurse or a vet? What sort of things does the vet say to you? If you can, speak back to her or ask directly why she is speaking to you like that. No-one has a right to make others feel belittled/stupid or try to test how far they can get and if you don't feel you can speak directly to them, ask someone else who you get on with to see if they can support you.

One thing I would add though is if it has been recommended by your doctor that you have time off, follow this advice. You are going to feel worse healthwise and mentally, especially as the advice wasn't followed because of work and this won't help with your overall feeling of the practice.

Keep us updated and I do hope things work out for you.
