My boss are partners and they're great and have no problems but have worked with some nightmare couples in the past.

Really admire them, I couldn't work with my boyfriend lol

My bosses are husband (vet) & wife (practice manager) and its been great! Really enjoy working with them and feeling like part of the family!

My boss and his wife work together, and although there is occassional conflict, they actually work pretty well together and I really enjoy working with them both :) I guess I'm just lucky though! x

I was one half of an at work couple I was seeing one of the vets and while at work we made sure not to work together unless no-one else was free, when in communal situations such as lunch times where we all sat together we also ensured we didnt sit together and we never kissed cuddled held hands etc. at work. I was very concious of it being uncomfortable for my collegues and I dont think it ever was! even when we broke up there we were very careful to keep our issues at home and now we still work at the same practice and nothing has changed in how we work together and we are really good friends now

Hi,

I worked with a married couple not in veterinary practice but in hospitality and it was auwful. The guy was the owner of the business and had no idea what employment law was about and would threaten to sack you for breathing wrong and his wife was my manager and thought she could treat you how she liked. Both had very little in the way of people skills and would argue infront of staff.

I left after being pushed out due to my diabetes and I am so glad i did

usually find couples if they are in charge are hell to work for the female is generally the bitch the bloke would probably be reasonable but is browbeaten but this is not always the case.

I have worked at 4 places with couples. One was in tenerife and only 2 was with veterinary so is an international and and multi work area problem actually have worked with more than 4 if l include where l worked as a kennel maid, trained for my bhsai and also as a stable hand at a small stud and at a couple of other places. Most of the time l live by the rule dont piss in my corner and l wont throw it back at you.

I currently work with a couple- vet and nurse and it actually works fine.
I think it helps that they dont work together every day and work different shifts due to branch practice and rotas. They never make anyone feel awkward and do a good job of keeping work and life separate.
