I am in a relationship with my boss. I'm a RVN, he's the practice manager/partner. We keep everything very professional, often new members of staff dont even know we're together until it comes up in conversation. He even does my apprasials and although it isnt nice for your beloved to be telling you what you need to improve on etc he treats me completely like any other member of staff. In fact instead of getting 'special' treatment I feel I probably do more than other members of staff out of hours!

I was very concious of it being uncomfortable for my collegues and I dont think it ever was! even when we broke up there we were very careful to keep our issues at home and now we still work at the same practice and nothing has changed in how we work together and we are really good friends now

Re: Couples at work...

Hi,

I worked with a married couple not in veterinary practice but in hospitality and it was auwful. The guy was the owner of the business and had no idea what employment law was about and would threaten to sack you for breathing wrong and his wife was my manager and thought she could treat you how she liked. Both had very little in the way of people skills and would argue infront of staff.

I left after being pushed out due to my diabetes and I am so glad i did

Hope you sort things out
