It has been having 5 x the amount required over 6 days.

Re: meloxicam

I didnt see it for long but it's basic obs were all completely normal, no vomiting or diarrhoea temp normal HR and RR normal took bloods kidney and liver parameters all normal haematology all normal, putting on ivft for 48hrs. thats as much as I know at the moment as my shift finished but will update tomorrow!

Hope the dog is okay! Had a Lab before that ate his weeks course of Rimadyl in one go (he'd only just left the surgery and client left the tablets on the back seat with the dog). Lots of haemorrhagic v/d over the next 24 hours, put on ivft and monitored renal function. I'm not sure if Parvolex is recommended in overdose of NSAIDs or if its just paracetomol o/d but might be worth checking.

Re: meloxicam

thanks everyone, we cant phone VPIS as practice im in wont pay for it and we couldnt get through to the manufacturers to see if they had any advise, still waiting for dog to arrive at the minute!
the main concern is gastic/oesophageal ulceration/perferation which can lead to stricture and peritonitis.....

Treatment would include gut protectants such as Sulcufate, omeprozole, ranitadine.

Endoscopy maybe needed to be performed to examine gastrointestinal tract for ulceration/perforation. and even ex-lap to repair perforations.

Re: meloxicam

Have you contacted VPIS?
