well, I am not bothered what anyone says but that is a truely terrible advert and waayyyyyy too graphic for something like flaming aeroplanes

The dose from one chest x-ray is approx 0.1mSv - there's no way you'd clock up fifty times that, i.e 5mSv, on one long-haul flight, especially considering that aircrew flying 600-800 hours per year have been measured to receive 2-5 mSv of radiation each year.

i got taught it very recently by a well know radiographer to whom has worked at langford in bristol and wrote a book on radiography. im not sure if she was trying to scare us or not as i was very shocked by the information myself.

as for the crew they are regulary checked and they shift pattens are very altered around what flights they are on, they also have to wear badges just like vveterinary to check their radiation levels

The march in London over the weekend - well when you think about it how did most of those taking part get there? bet they didnt use cars, trains buses or planes did they? so they contributed to carbon emissions to campaign against carbon emissions - dont make a lot of sense really similarly Copenhagen

its quite a graphically advert, im suprised it even got released on tv- although ive never seen the advert on tv before.
im a second year nurse and got taught in my radiography classes that a flight to america and back gives a person radiation of having 50 chest xrays

I think basically kez what the advert is saying is think about gloabal wamring and think about what you can do to help the plannet. Don't fly 6 times a year sort of thing recycle etc

The advert is shocking and so the stat at the end but am afraid that the way we live these days and well untill ppl change their ways theres not alot you can do sadly.

The polar bear ad is very shocking, is that being aired on TV now? I've not seen it before.

How exactly are we supposed to travel long distances? They show us the problem but not the solution. (I hate flying by the way so I'm relatively guilt free here)

omg! was that on tv?? def gets the point accross.. I can see so many people with nothing better to do complaining to offcom or something about this ad.. probably because it doesn't say "no polor bears were harmed in the making of this advert" .. lol
