I love Kathy Riech books, I think they are better than Patricia Cromwell.

The series, Bones, on Sky is based on her books but the books are far better.

I like Dan Brown too.... hinted that I want the new one for Xmas

if your into vampire books, i really like the 'house of night' series by p.c. and kristen cast. theyre teenage vampire books but i love them although sometimes they do go a bit over americanified! have also read the first tru blood book and just ordered the rest online to come soon hopefully. i love the tv series tho!!!!! its fab! altho it is totally different to the book so far.

Library sounds a very good idea indeed, I should use my local library more.

I also love second hand book shops,I could lose myself in them for hours!

yeah i think i should join the library just to get a feel for different books without buying them. my partner keeps suggesting it as i mope around for a few nights then pick up the same book again

Join your local library. Ask if there is a mobile it may well stop near you. You can now use your library card around the country not just at local library's. I wish l could afford all the books l love and series **sighs**
The library's are a lifeline, and are usually able to get books in l want. if l order from the mobile or am overdue they do not charge that just happens at the brick and concrete immobile library's. You can return local books to any local library so that is also convenient.
If you use your card out of the area though you have to take your own books back to a library in that area still it is good being able to use my card wherever l am l will now keep an eye open for other library's when l am off locuming.

Apart from names of characters the series has NO resemblance to the books. It is as different as chalk and cheese.

i just very nearly bought the tru blood books of amazon (before reading your post). i though oh it will be crap cos the telly one is. I may go back to that now

I have put the author links in for you. Generally speaking you will be able to read the first chapter of the book you may be interested in. So page through what they have written. A very good idea as l can tell in about the first couple of words if l will like a book and am not often wrong.
As you seem to like supernatural l have put them in apart from the last one Clive Cussler. His are all adventure novels with no supernatural except some very fleeting parts in some of the books.

Nora Roberts and her pen name JK Robb
As JK Robb all the books end ...... in Death and are based around a detective in 2060. She has fallen for and married a billionaire they are very much in love but he runs rings round her helping her, good chuckle had there. A fair bit of sex but not overdone or used as padding so l don't mind that.
I love them the books and working my way through them.

As Nora Robberts a lot of them have a supernatural twist in the tail but not all of them again love her books. A lot are trilogys but not all many are stand alone.

Keri Arthu:
Her books are supernatural based am hooked on them.

Kelly Armstrong:
Her books are supernatural

Charlene Harris
She has written the Trublood (tv series) but the books are brilliant the tv show is c**p dont waste time on tv get the books.

Mary Janet Davidson
Read 2 of her books the other day. They were and Sleeping with the fishes and Swimming with the fishes.
I was rolling laughing. The heroine is a marine biologist who is a half mermaid and works in a major aquarium. She can hide her tail so only her mum, dad and best friend know.
The fish in her large aquarium tank go on strike (won't spoil the why) she can not eat shellfish or seafood, hates to swim in the sea.. it is creepy and dirty. I had to give up on the section she is on the aquariums boat in the harbour (grugingly permitted there by the captain) the captain and mate are checking the safety equipment as last time she was on she somehow sunk the boat. I was crying so hard with laughter l gave up and had to move on after 20mins!!!.

Christine Feehan:
I have read a couple of her Dark series and have 3 more of the 21 books waiting for collection at the mobile library. These are about vampires but not the accepted view. They are from Romania but it is slightly different but am hooked.
Have read one of the Leopard Series. I enjoyed that as well but need to read the Dark ones first.

Christine Warren:
Have only read one of hers. "Your so vein" It is a vampire story, Very funny and serious mixed into one. I enjoyed it. trouble is l want to get through the dark series first so others in this lot will have to wait.

Dean Koontz
I love his books. The "Odd" series is very good and worth reading Brother Odd was the first Dean Kootz l read and l now am working my way through them all.

Clive Cussler:
He has several different series. The Numa/Dirk Pitt and Oregan are interwoven around NUMA (national marine and underwater agency). I have loads of his books. The other 2 Isaac Bell and The Wrecker l have read one of Isaac Bell and it was brilliant it is set at the turn of the last century.

Well a few there to get on with good luck. It has got so bad with me l now have an index book l am writing my library books in so it makes it easier to order what l have not read and keep an eye on what l have read.

I've just finished Mr Toppit by Charles Elton - really good story about an author that is killed and the fallout for his family. Can't say a lot more or it gives it away!

Iv recently read Touching the void by joe simpson, its about friends climbing an ice mountain and getting into trouble its a true story a great read if you like the outdoors

At the moment I like Peter James,he writes crime thrillers based around a character called Roy Grace in Brighton. ('dead simple','not dead enough'.etc)
