Would this introduction make you want to read more or would it not interest you in the slightest? Constructive critisism more than welcomed!

the proper ‘pets’, I could never resist a sob story and this led to a good few
extras moving in for periods of time. One of the first wildlife ‘rescues’ I
took on was a moth I found on the way home from school one day. Walking past a
patch of grass I heard and almighty buzzing noise and, worried it might be a
bee in trouble or similar (and having that in-built need to know what was going
on and did this bee need help) I spent a good 5 minutes searching the grass. I
got a few funny looks, but again, this is something I am fairly used to! I
finally found a poor moth being repeatedly attacked by a wasp, grabbed and
stung each time it tried to get away. At the time I saw this as nothing more
than evil wasp aggression, now I imagine it was more likely the wasp was trying
to find a moth in which to lay its eggs – not much more pleasant but trying to
find a place to lay eggs is a more than good enough reason. I prodded the wasp
repeatedly (and gently, obviously) until it moved away and picked up the still
struggling moth. With foresight that I rarely am blessed with, I took a small
piece of the closest shrub and carried my little moth home. Tucking it up into
a warm place with some sugared water I didn’t hold out much hope and, by the
next morning, the poor little thing was dead. However, there were a number of
small specks on the piece of shrub... hmm. I waved it under my mum’s nose and
she informed me that it was clearly moth doodies. Nice."
</sup>

Re: What do you think of this introduction?
morning as I needed to check Teeny was ok, I was already acutely aware that I
was far too attached. Diving over to his little cat food box I opened the lid
and noticed he had buried himself in the night. I removed his shredded paper...
and the little fluffy blanket... and reached the bottom of the empty box. No
Teeny. Poor Jack got the first accusing look and was banished to another room while
I searched the kitchen. No matter where I looked there was no sign. I knew
Teeny wouldn’t last long on his own and I had to find him, desperately hoping
it was not already too late. I demolished the kitchen, removing the kick
boards, pulling out appliances and lying on the floor to peer into all the
nooks and crannies. Just when I was starting to give up hope lying on the floor
behind the freezer trying to peer behind a gap in the cupboards, my torch
caught the flash of a reflection in a gap behind the motor of the freezer.
Pressing my face as far as possible into the back of the freezer there was a definite
little fluffy brown body pressed into the gap. For a second I was convinced he
was dead, then his little face turned towards me and there was a small squeak.
The relief was massive – however I now had another problem. How exactly was I
going to get him out? I put my hand down towards him and to my surprise he
happily clambered out and curled up in the palm of my hand. Panic over! One
happily feeding little Teeny, Jack released from the other room and one
seriously relieved veterinary nurse!

Re: What do you think of this introduction?
I very much look forward to reading more. Keep up the great work!! You have a real talent there and dont be afraid to use it
over Lottie, I realised I needed a pet. I have never been much of a people
person, it takes a lot for me to open up and talk properly to people. Talking
to animals, while making you look like that last marble may just have slipped
down the back of the sofa, is a great way of setting the world to rights
without being judged or getting a response you don’t want! The unconditional
love of a pet, whatever it may be, is for me one of the best things in the
world, only second to my fiancé!

Persuading my parents to
let me browse the pet shop was a pretty regular occurrence when I was younger.
It normally involved me tearing through the door to the area where pets were
sold and standing staring at whatever they had in stock, from budgies to
hamsters, finches to rabbits. It also, unfortunately for my parents, usually
involved a significant amount of begging for whatever I could persuade them to
let me have!

Re: What do you think of this introduction?

I def don't think it sounds like a silly idea...i want to read more!
