Hello,

yep i sat mine in september last year and passed with distinction.

time was very tight in the exam though and the questions were tough. on the whole although the course was intresting it was not well organised or well run at all. i would get your nurse to check out the nutrition course being run by the RVC, i think its due to start in the autumn. as it may be a better option.

Has everyone on this thread sat the exam yet?

I have a nurse in practice who is keen to do this course but after reading some of the posts Im not sure. How did everyone get on?

i was worried you might say that, i am struggaling at the moment as i started locuming not long after starting course and have fallen behind. i am thinking that putting off exam till next yr would be a plan. esp as i have a wedding to plan for jan as well. are there any other books, web sites etc other then the recc reading listthat would be helpfull ???

Hi guys, I've done the course, I found it interesting and yes you have to go into a lot of detail when answering the exam questions. Be ready for anything as the 2 written papers are not that easy and I've been recently told by an insider at Hill's that it's a really difficult exam to pass. The practical isn't too bad, any more questions feel free to ask!

i have completed seven units now. but dont we have to get all 19 done by august? im really not sure of the time frame only that the exams are in september so i guess it will all need to be done by then?

i recon i could easily complete the units in time but its the "reading around" that worries me how do you know how much to do - and so how long you should be spending on it?

how far have you got with it?

ha ha! sorry louise, no i wish! i live in cornwall and there are no grants availible at all. thankfully my boss agreed to fund the whole thing for me - Bless him!

im doing it through telford as a distance learning student.

Hi, anji - do you live in Scotland? I haven't done the course but I believe that, if you are resident in Scotland, you can use an ILA Scotland voucher against the cost of doing it at Telford. This would save you £200. I have used used my voucher (for something else) and it was really easy.
