I am soon to be qualified and am seriously starting to consider my options because I really want to leave the practice I'm in right now. Locuming is great though just for seeing different practices (often there are locum positions within referral hospitals too so you don't have to commit yourself). I think also you can locum as a student though it would be more beneficial to you to have your portfolio complete so you don't have to worry about assessing/help with training etc.

Good Luck!

Re: Career advice

Hi Michelle,

there's nothing wrong with leaving your current job to locum. I am sure you are aware you need to stay where you are until you qualify before you can locum.

If you are really unhappy where you are, then I think you already know the answer to your question! But try to stick at it until you qualify - then there will be a whole load of opportunities for you!

Best of luck, what ever you decide
