Thankyou, my friend is now informed of the importance of using veterinary products!

I think her vet was going to ring VPIS as she isnt a client at the practice where I work, I will let you know of the outcome,

Im thinking ingestion is the likely cause.

Also, it might be an idea to call the VPIS, as they might have more information, and if not, they will log the occurance, so if it happens repeatedly they can do something about it.

I'm thinking it seems a long time after applying the Bob Martin drops that the death occurred, a reaction to those things usually happens within 24 hrs, often sooner. Just a guess, though. I assume you've told her to avoid those pet shop meds in future anyway?! Would the fireworks have had anything to do with it??

I've never heard of it, but perhaps it ingested some, may have groomed the other pig?

Hmmmmm maybe a red herring into the death and im jumping to conclusions and blaming the bob Martins. he was only 18 months old and no sign of illness, he died before she got him to the vet, very sad. x

I used to use Bob Martins guinea pig on my pigs (before i was wise enough to know better!), neither of them ever had a reaction to it.

Thanks, thats all I can presume because never heard of reactions when the correct dose has been used. ( but my friend is adamant she put the correct one on him!)
