I looked at his nails - they dont seem scuffed, but I cannot be sure.

My sister has horses in the field beside my house, Mmmm......

And yes, its very likely my goats could have head butted him also.

Oh no, I am no closer now to finding out - the possibilities are so many, I may never know.

The main thing is that his wounds are looking well and he is in great form enjoying all the tlc right now!

Cheers everyone

Re: Mmmm strange wound

Ahhh that's a good point Caro...

Re: Mmmm strange wound

Goats .. butting?

Re: Mmmm strange wound

Hello,

Just wondering if you have horses in the area? We had a e.s.s in which had very similar bruises/wounds to what you have described and that had been loose in a field full of horses. She had been kicked quite a few times!

Just a thought :) hope he is ok today

This is probably a silly thought but where I work we microchipped a greyhound, 3 hours later he returned with widespread bruising over his body.

Tests confirmed Angistrongulus (sp?)

Hope the poor fella is feeling a little better.

Tonight, he is much the same, so I put it down to having sedation today.

At the moment, he is lying on the floor in the sitting room here, beside me - with no muzzle on, the cat has just walked past him - he saw her, but he didnt bat an eyelid.

I am hoping that it is the drugs causing such a non-reaction, as opposed to having had a scare of some sort. He is not normally like this.

the utility door would have slammed shut a few times over the weekend if the front door was open, as it caused the back door also to slam.

That could explain the wound on his neck, but not on his hind though. Sometimes they would all race out the back door, and one would get stuck, which would also coincide with the neck wound. It that was the only wound, I wouldnt be so confused. Its the hind leg wound and the grazes on various parts of the body I am wondering about.

Yes, they do sound like a probable rta, and being dragged along the road, but I have no idea how/when it happened.

If only they could talk!

Re: Mmmm strange wound

hasnt had a door slam shut on him has he? saw a lurcher with bruised areas both sides of its abdomen but no wounds where a door had slammed shut when it was trying to get through (owner saw it happen otherwise we would have been stumped as to what caused the bruises - never seen anything like it since, bruises took a couple of days to develop and looked pretty spectacular in a near white dog)

Re: Mmmm strange wound

How very odd! Us and our strange animals huh?
