&lt;p&gt;xxx &lt;img src="http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/emoticons/new/Happy_smiley.png" alt="Smile" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item><item><title>Re: Happy Birthday Vicky</title><link>https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/thread/54888?ContentTypeID=1</link><pubDate>Mon, 16 Nov 2009 00:06:25 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">1a0763ec-3885-442c-853e-6cef656dfec5:17a73c47-062e-4506-839f-70878c9957d5</guid><dc:creator>Vicky RVN</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;That&amp;#39;s very true, have some great memories.&amp;nbsp; I will keep thinking of them (and laughing at a lot of them), one silly one is us eating&amp;nbsp;a swiss roll...my dad and i were both eating them by unrolling them, mum was about to tell us not to be so disgusting when she turned around and her mum was doing the same thing, so she decided she couldn&amp;#39;t really say much haha!&amp;nbsp; My gran and grandad used to look after me while mum and dad were at work, every dad my grandad would go to the paper shop and get me a curly whirly!&amp;nbsp; And every day he&amp;#39;d go upstairs for a shave, i&amp;#39;d &amp;#39;creep&amp;#39; up the stairs, past the bathroom and into their room to hide behind the dressing table, where i&amp;#39;d jump out on my grandad when he came in!&amp;nbsp; He obviously knew i was there, but acted surprised EVERY time!&amp;nbsp; They used to take me to Sainsburys, there were big concrete hippos outside the shop and i was allowed to sit on them on the way into and out of the shop!&amp;nbsp; For a treat we&amp;#39;d go somewhere on a bus rather than going in the car.&amp;nbsp; Oh they were good childhood days...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Aww that&amp;#39;s lovely your boys feel like that about their uncle, if you see what i mean?&amp;nbsp; Not nice they feel upset, but nice that they know enough about him despite the fact they have never met him.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You will always have your memories and no one can ever take them away from you.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I know how you feel about your children never meeting your grandparents, all I have to show my children about their uncle Stephen, are photographs.&amp;nbsp; When they are old enough, I will show them the newspaper stories about his death.&amp;nbsp; They are too young to cope with that right now.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I was having&amp;nbsp;a down moment at the time i wrote that post, as you could tell.&amp;nbsp; I don&amp;#39;t suppose it helped that it was late at night and i was doing portfolio, i was over tired so it made me more emotional.&amp;nbsp; It makes me feel sad that when i have children they will never meet&amp;nbsp;their great nan and grandad.&amp;nbsp; At least i have pictures to show and stories to tell.&lt;/p&gt;
