It was the zylkene desensitisation CD but I only used it throughout October and I found it worked well. I may try it on my older cat too he's a bit stressy at the moment - I must say so far I'm really impressed with it

Hi I am the technical vet responsible for Zylkene - so it is really great to hear your success stories. We would really love to hear your success stories and if any one would be happy to provide a testimonial then please let me know.

The CD mentioned is the Zylkene Sound Desensitisation Programme. One CD is being given free of charge for every box of Zylkene that is ordered from Sept-November.

I would also reiterate what has been mentioned re the CD. These CDs should not be used near to firework season - there should be no chance of any fireworks occurring and the programme takes weeks to months to complete. Therefore we recommend starting in the spring time when fireworks generally don't happen. The 2 main reasons why sound desensitisation programmes fail is being performed at the wrong time of year and also owners progressing too rapidly through the program.

Re: zylkene success???

It was the zylkene desensitisation CD but I only used it throughout October and I found it worked well.
I realise it's a different scenario but my cat really can be a nightmare and I definately noticed a positive change in his behaviour and attitude. Would deffo recommend and use it again!

Re: zylkene success???

What CD is it? Is it like the Sounds Scary one, cos if so this is the wrong time of year to try a desensitisation CD you should wait until there is no chance of fireworks going off unexpectedly, otherwise you risk making them worse

Re: zylkene success???

We've had varied feedback re fireworks but have seen good results with a regular boarder we have.
Bella is a paraplegic min dachshund who boards with us when her owners go away. The first few times she was terrible, getting really stressed, barking constantly, off food, colitis etc. We got the owners to start her on zylkene a week before she came this time and can def see a difference in her. She is eating us out of house and home, hardly barks and is a lot more settled. Would def recommend it in this situation.

Re: zylkene success???

Amazing drug!
