You must tell your doctor, so that the authorities can be notified. Just as we have to report extreme side effects to drugs used in animals, so doctors must notify of any extreme reactions in human medication. It is important - think if someone not as fit as you took the drug and had the same effects, it could be a lot worse. So if for no other reason than that, you should at least speak to your doctor to report this.

It is wrong that you were dispensed the meds without the package insert, but then I have also experienced lax dispensing from hospitals - indeed I was given 2 identical eye ointments following head trauma after a car crash - no labels / info sheets, and the person dispensing couldn't tell me if it was for my eyes / which eye / or if it was for the gash on my nose (which they had used it on following suturing!!!!! It was appalling!!!

Despite all this, I would urge you to talk to your doctor - I know you are loath to take anything, but if you needed drugs in an emergency, and they were not aware of your reaction to this, it could have more serious consequences. Also you could be given the same drug under another trade name in the future, and may not realise, so let them know!

Everything i suffered last night is listed as the possible side effects. The hospital gave them to me in a plastic sleeve, without the box or insert. So the drug company do know what this stuff can do. Shocking! Had i read that in the first place, i wouldn't have taken it. My own fault though, i usually research everything before taking something, especially for my dogs and animals. Seems i should do it more for myself too. Feeling a bit more human now, but im just worried about what this has done to my liver and kidneys. Heck, i only took two and the recommended dose is two to be taken three times a day! I might go see a doc if by tonight im not feeling back to normal. Not sure what they can do for me and i sure as hell am not taking any other muck they might want to give me to counteract this. Just really scary and the chances of getting any meds down me in future are that much more slim now.

Re: Tramacet

Speak to your doctor ASAP Karen - that is a very severe reaction, and needs to be notified to the drugs authorities. Your doctor will be able to advise you of any further treatment you may need.

Drink plenty of water though, in the mean time. If your doctors surgery won't give you an appointment tell them it is vital you at least speak to a doctor ASAP. Sometimes you just need to tell receptionists you have to be seen / speak to someone!!

Hope it works out of your system soon!
