Hoping someone could give me a few ideas. I'm doing K&U for my portfolio and trying to answer:
'The adjustments to environmental conditions that are needed for different types of animal - light, temp, noise. Relating to preparing animals

Re: Portfolio help pls - environmental conditions

lights - switch on b4 consults/ops, check ops lights working in morning b4 ops. good light into kennels, also switch the lights off for vet to use opthalmascope or scan? Also blinds in consult rooms may be necessary, glare from sun?

Temp - at correct temp for indirvidual patient, small furries, reptiles, cooling devices needed if necessary for heatstroke for example or oxygen tents?

Humidity - That you feel the room is at the correct humidity - o2 tents again and what would you do to rectify......buy a humidifier (if one room was effected etc)

Im sure I just mentioned these, saying something like when I set up in the morning, I would turn the lights on to ensure they were all working (if not replace a bulb), I felt the humidity was optimum .................if not blah blah .........

hope this helps

Re: Portfolio help pls - environmental conditions

Depends on which element you are covering. However consider what the animal is being treated for as this may have an effect, e.g status epilepticus or the effects of medication already prescribed.

Hope this helps

Think about species like wildlife-low light, no noise from dogs etc can all reduce stress. Reptiles need specific heat levels for their PBT, differences can cause health problems.

Re: Portfolio help pls - environmental conditions

No help sorry as l do not want to dive in with wrong wording or info will let assesors on here help you it is safer but what is K and U been trying to work it out someone else mentioned it as well.
