ok well I think PersonA is being selfish by not looking persons B point of veiw. She has been asked to do cover 7 nights. Now what if person B has a family nad had plans for those nights? I think with it being 7 nights person B has been a brilliant colleague and steppped in where she was going to be needed. Person A should realise this and let Person B get on with it the 7 nights. Person A should do Person Bs rota.

it's not just 1 night night, it's 7 nights on 7 nights off
and Anna had things arranged for her week off and it is management who had arranged for the swap but she notified management friday morning that she would be fine to do her shift as per rota.

I think person B did person A a favour in agreeing to cover their shift. Person A will have made their arrangements around it and to try and make them back out now is messing them around for a 2nd time. I think it's only one shift, just enjoy your night off and use it as extra recovery time.

I think person A should do person B's shift. I have swapped weekends on call due to illness in the past and yes cancel plans that I had made etc.....

Think Person A is being a bit awkward, by any chance do u get extra cash for your night shifts???

I would say personA is being a little selfish. Person B may have had plans and had to change them because Person A was unwell. I don't think Person B should swap and I think personA should be more understanding. The work had to make plans incase person A was not well and person A should undertstand this and accept the change.

I think that person B has been nice enough to swap shift incase person A is not well. So person A should understand this and do the shift. Person B may have had plans for that shift and had to change that all because person A is unwell. So personA should do the new rota. Unless personB is happy to change.

Maybe person B has become geared up to do that shift, maybe made or cancelled plans around it. Might be nice for person A not to have to do that shift and have a chance to recover fully after being unwell.

I agree with you i think, if person A is well again they should do their normal shift. But then i can also see if from person B's point of view, in that they've been disrupted in changing their shift initially so don't want to be shunted about again.
