I'm afraid I feel the same. Another thing that really pissed me off was that although you may have been an assessor for several years, to be a mentor means that you are only deemed suitable if you are an RVN (or vet) so if not registered you can't mentor.

I ranted left lot of points out as was angry and only had less than an hr to write it before midnight. Yes nurses know nothing about whats going to happen practices don't either.

Had 2 BVNA meetings this week at different ends of Scotland and was amazed at how little the nurses at these meeting knew about this consultation. Hopefully I got them so wound up abou ti they all emailed in! I spent 2 hours writing my email to make sure all my points were put across sensibily and tried very hard not to rant, which is what I really wanted to do! In my heart though, I feel that we will get what has been proposed, as the RCVS very rarely listened to VNs - hence the reason we are not recognised as SQPs

Wasn't going to reply but have done. I blew my stack have said up to them if they read it as far as l am concerned the new ideas are c**p and l have fired both barrels at the end of the day my/our thoughts do not count for a rats backside.

Don't forget you only have two hours in which to formulate and send in your email for consideration before they finalise the new VN qualification format.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a new workable method which means people like myself finally can get the chance we need (and deserve after all our efforts trying to get employment).
This is our last chance because if the RCVS screw it up and make it harder to train then the whole profession will have a big problem within 5 years with a lack of qualified staff.
