I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for clinics or promotions in practice i.e. weight clinics etc. The practice where i work is trying to set some more up and i would appreciate some advice. Also what do you give out at these clinics

Re: clinics/promotions

I found mailshots with booster reminders have really helped us get more geriatric clinics going. Waiting room displays and notes on our website and on-hold thing on the phones have also helped alot.

We tend to give out packs with info and some freebies for example tos, food samples, logic samples and feeding mats/poop scoop bags. The clients like these but be wary of just filling it with leaflets! I ended up writing a sheet of basic things to look out for in geriatric pets, rabbits etc...

Good luck!!

Re: clinics/promotions

I think displays in recpetion are the key to this sort of thing to, eye catching and something a bit different. Our practice offers a free 6months health check to discuss neuter, worms, fleas ect and also an appt with nurse after 2nd vacc to go over diet ect all free of charge in with the price of vacc course. Works realy well and means that the nurse forms a good bond with new clients.

Hope all goes well laura x

Re: clinics/promotions

Hey, its great that your practice wants to set up nursing clinics. getting them off the ground and marketted can be a bit of a slog tho, and often starting (and if not keeping them) as free helps immensly. What i found worked best for me was (if your computer systems allows) is to flag up the target clients. IE any animals over 8, any animals in the last 6months that have overweight mentioned in the records, or dental, arthritis etc. And i love the information on the promotion you can get from companies like RCW, Hills and over drugs companies, but making your own promotional material so it is related back to the practice helps build up client-practice rapport.
Another great way is to make each month a 'clinic' month EG November "golden oldies" where vets can refer clients to you. Altho they should be encouraged to do this as often as possible!

Hope this helps!

Good luck!!

Re: clinics/promotions

Hi!

If you are a Royal Canin practice we can provide leaflets , vouchers, promotional gifts and waiting room support. We have just relaunched the Weigh In Club which contains guide books for owners, you can then give them money off vouchers when they join, half way through weight loss and when they reach target weight. We also have some gifts like cat toys and dog activity balls for clients when they purchase food.

We do similar support for dental clinics and i am currently working on a new Senior clinic support package.

Speak to your Veterinary business manager and they will be able to help you
