Pfizer have advised not to use Domitor. We would prefer to use isoflurane only. Does any one have any experience anesthetizing skunks? Any tips would be welcome.

Re: Anesthetics in skunks

We had a guy come to uni with a descented skunk.
I met a descented skunk fairly early in my nursing career - had been purchased from Harrods. still smelt fairly pungent to me tho! - in fact that was the presenting problem. My vets reaction ' its a bleeding skunk what do you expect?' which he actually said to the client.

[/quote]

Haha!! Surely the clients couldn't have expected a reaction other than that? I've never seen a skunk in real life, but wouldn't find it strange that they actually smell

Cute things though looking at Emma's pictures!

Re: Anesthetics in skunks

I met a descented skunk fairly early in my nursing career - had been purchased from Harrods. still smelt fairly pungent to me tho! - in fact that was the presenting problem.
