I've got all mine with More than (2 cats, 2 dogs) get cover for life, multi pet discount and like others have said, still cheaper than petplan but with higher vets fees cover.

i also got a further discount 'cos I have home ins with them too!

The man at petplan wasn't happy when I told them why I wasn't renewing my 4 week cover note though, he insisted point blank that no other insurer does the cover for life. he got the right hump about it

More than wont stop calling me after i got an online quote from them! I answered once and told them why i wasnt taking out their insurance, and they've called me every day since whilst ive been at work and missed the calls. They did the same when i got a quote for house insurance too

Have recently discovered that More than is putting time controls on when you can claim. Must claim for 1st treatment within 30days and any continuation must be claim every 3-6mths otherwise will not pay out.

They are getting more like E+L everyday!

Mine are all with More Than (except one cat who had pre-existing conditions whilst with Pet Plan). Never had any problems with them, and they're cheaper even after Pet Plan's 20% discount.

The dogs are insured as they are show dogs.

The 9 cats that came to me all arrived with different problems ranging from being born with back legs the wrong way round to broken legs to abdominal injuries etc. was only supposed to be recovering before being homed by the RSPCA. They forgot them and the cats became too settled to move on. I no longer foster for the RSPCA as I felt that I was a dumping area for ones they didn't think could be homed.

Mine are with healthy pets, at the time time they gave the best deal with older cats. Since then, have just carried on with the others for ease.

Argos wont insure my breed (selkirk rex) because apparently the underwriters wont cover rare or unusual breeds as they don't know enough about them..I tried telling them that they're recognised by all the cat clubs, are PKD tested and other companies recognise them, but no...stupidly they have a weiner cat on their list though, what the hell is a weiner cat?!!

Just had a thought though - if they dont recognise their breed do you think they'll cover them as cross breeds? or is that fraudulent as they are pedigree?

But if anyone has any normal pets argos do seem like a good deal with their platinum cover

i just got a quote online from argos and its only £18 a month for both cats - £10 less than petplan.

I'm going to call them tomorrow to check details about the cover (and get a proper quote as they dont have my breed on the website so i picked british shorthair for a relative quote) - but i may be going with them :)

When I renewed mine I was also told I could have one or the other. Chose the 20% obviously as you end up with more off, but will def be checking this out now. I always got both before but not this year!

I have 4 dogs and 1 cat, all insured with Pet Plan, cost me a small fortune every month even with nurse discount and multi-pet discount, but I wouldn't use anyone else. They have always paid out no problems and one of my dogs has had a serious amount of money spent on her!

No I checked, they (in their words) up the pot every year! so the £7k renews every year.. unless something happened which costs more than £7k in one year.. but then after that year, the £7k gets renewed.. - HAPPY DAYS :) I didnt ask about nurse discount, but I had 10% off for insuring both pets :) ..

Thanks everyone - i got a decent quote from petplan for the 2 posh cats so will go with them. My dog and moggy are with them, and my horse was until this year until her premiums got ridiculous (but they have paid out thousands and thousands for her over the years!).

Interestingly petprotect only insure cats up until they are 9 years old...and m&s and vet2pet the only other lifetime policies wanted the same amount PER cat as what petplan want for both
