It is SO nerve wrecking isn't it! I actually felt more nervous than i ever have done before! Even more nervous than i felt for my NVQ2 exams, and passing them meant a hell of a lot to me! I came out and said i'm never doing that again! But now i know i passed i def want to do it again (in 6 months time) and aim higher!

Nerves do play a lot in yours and the dogs performance, i kept trying to tell myself it didn't matter if i didn't pass, as long as Jack and i enjoyed it! But still passing feels grrrrrrrrreat!

Did Tosca enjoy it? I'd like to do agility but apparently waiting lists in this area are huge, and i'm getting quite into heelwork now!

Well done. I did my first agility competition last week, its so nerve racking. Tosca unfortunately sensed my nerves and went in the wrong end of the tunnel- elimination!

It's such a relief to have done it. I was so nervous i haven't eaten anything all day! My mum is just doing tea then i'm taking Jack for a nice 'well done for being such a good boy' walk!

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!

WE PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

We had to do the routine three times so that we got all of the required elements in...Jack kept getting distracted...at one point he was running around the room in a big loop at 100mph!!! And he did his bouncy dancy thing he does when he gets excited, the judges loved that but unfortunately it wasn't what he was supposed to do!!! After doing it three times we got in all that was needed for a pass! Next time we'll got for a merit...or a distinction would be lovely! We've got a certificate and a rosette

Les, i'm in Southampton. We go to classes in a riding school and the progress awards today were in a hall. I don't think it helps that it's in a different environment when being testing, some of the dogs get distracted by being somewhere different.

Mrs D, i never thought i'd manage to do it with Jack! I started off taking him to training classes to teach him some manners and recall etc. When we passed that class the trainer convinced me to continue training there and do the heelwork to music classes. I went along never intending to get anywhere with it, just thought i'd do it to occupy Jacks mind and as a bit of a social thing cos Jack enjoys going and i like the people. But Jan bullied me into doing the progress awards (her words!) so that it would get us working harder! I'm glad she did because he's a much more responsive dog now, consequently he gets more off lead time which he loves

Anyway, enough jabbering!
