&lt;p&gt;Well my main reason for doing them was to gain further knowledge in a certain area (nutrition for me) and then with a view to getting paid extra... I&amp;#39;m still waiting...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve also worked towards the A1 qualification too and spent the bast part of 3 years getting students through exams and portfilio, the second I get the qualification my boss decides not to be a training practice any more!!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So I&amp;#39;ve worked my ass off and not been financially rewarded for any of it!&lt;img src="http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/emoticons/new/Angry_smiley.png" alt="Angry" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

This is mainly an online course, though there is a compulsory residential week at the RVC at the start of the course.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As for behaviour, COAPE do a recognised diploma which is residential for about 3 weekends per year (over 2 years). A couple of people on here have done this or studying it at the moment so can help more with this.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You now have a choice of subjests that you study in the second year and can take medical and surgical, that is why there is no definite dip avn (surg....) med) anymore&lt;/p&gt;
