The shoebox appeals were very successful ( was part of a larger charity then which we then dropped out of because we didnt like the religious overtones - see samaritans purse) We still collect and fill shoe boxes.

in each shoebox we try to include things like a bar of soap, toothpaste and brush, a practical gift like gloves and a hat or similar - these are often knitted by some of our volunteers, a small toy, some sweets and anything else we can get in the box. Baby boxes can include nappies, talc, baby lotion, babygros small toy whatever we can get hold of. (doesnt sound very exciting maybe but for a child that has nothing it means a lot)

We also collect duvets and good clean bedding, toilet rolls and sanitary products. - there isnt much we will say no to. we are looking for a couple of generators at the moment before the next trip at the beginning of November ( this will be the Christmas delivery)

among our volunteers we have plumbers and electricians and bricklayers who have used their holiday time and gone across there and have done what they can

Re: Bulgarias Abandoned Children

I saw this the other night, I couldn't believe it, was like something from 50 years ago.....
