We also stock purina proplan and veterinary px diets and too LOVE THEM. Most of our Hills clients have transfered esp since the price is so much more competative with if anything a better qtly of protien! The palatablity is much better since the meat is only cooked once! and not twice like most other pet foods. I simply get a packet of hills like feline netuered (hills) and look at the first ingredient - Maize then look at Proplan aftercare and it says Chicken! Sounds nicer to me.

The PX range is just as platable the OM (obesity management) is a great sucess both in my patients loosing weight and them liking it! Less flatulance than the RD too!

I know it has nothing to do with the food but I also think the packaging is pretty smart and modern too!

thanks for that guys, we are getting both the purina rep and th RC rep in this week. personally i would like to go with purina as i think it is a great food and they have not made too many different maint diets unlike RC and hills. will see how it goes this week and let you all know!!

I love purina personally only because my niamh doesn't eat anything but this she is soo fussy so nice to find her some food she loves! Stupid q as I can google it I guess but do they sell wet purina adult food? She wont eat any wet food anymore, shes such an odd cat and she will only eat a handfull of biscuits a day, she losing weight and am a little worried lol!!

Yup! Purina NF for renal kitties. Not had a single one return the food because they won't eat it. Much much better palatability than Hills and RCW!

We're a bit of everything! have problems with never seeing the hills, rc & purina reps so only on purina for a short while tho found the OM & UR diet worked really well, mainly use RC for prescription food, james wellbeloved lifestage is on the shelf in reception (did you know staff can get a discount for their own pets but you have to arrange for a rep to come out and see you they dont contact vets themselves) and the royal canin breed diets..particularly cavalier, boxer & g.shep diets sell well (we have a stand full of samples which is very popular!)

Then a handfull of clients whose pets have been on hills for years.

Personally I have 2 dogs on senior JW & 1 on Wafcol salmon & potato (only diet that has cleared up her skin problems!) and 2 cats on RCW young female & 1 on JW senior!

We recently changed from Hills to Royal canin. We are in a low income area though so dont sell a great deal of food. We also stock a small amount James Wellbeloved which sells really well

Hill's all the way!

I think you will find with a lot of the new sized bags it will feed the animal for the same length of time as they have jiggled around with the formula, therefore this means that it will last the animal the same length of time as they need less to eat.

If you live in the North West we have had rep 'issues' over the last year or so (as in not been very good, this is why no one has had the product sizing explained) They are in the process of sorting it out now and a nice new spangly rep should be on its way to look after us again!

RCW and hills, but called and left message on purina reps answer phone, still waiting for return call 2 weeks later.

At the mo, find hills going better with the clients,but prefer RCW for my own dog ( rest seem to increase poo outtake++++++!)

Neither seem to be very good rep wise at the mo.

We are a Hills practice - previously RCW..

The majority of clients have passed over easily, as were given free bag of hills food, and £3 of their next purchase...

We sill have a few who prefer RCW tho - fair do's!

Personally, have always favoured Hills - but possibly coz the place I initially trained at was a Hills practice.......

We sell Hills, Royal Canin, Purina and James Wellbeloved. I personally prefer Hills to Royal Canin but as said before, both have gone up in price!

Hi Katie,

We stock Royal Canin and and have a very good uptake on it. Again though, they are raising their prices at an alarming rate!

We have found it's very easy to promote and 'user friendly' for the clients. The rep's are really good with their training as well.
