Just a small tangent. Did any of you guys see the film Marley and Me after reading the book?

I have to say that the book had me howling with laughter and then crying my eyes out. I loved it.

The film I thought was a huge let down. It just didn't seem to pick out the key points from the book.

What did you guys think?

he is hilarious. i love the episode where he is obsessed with lois

"mummy, mummy, mummy, mom, mom, mom, lois, lois, lois" then he runs off giggling, bloomin hilarious!

i think its good, but i diiiiiiiid get freaked out by the singing......lol!! they shoulda done it without.... The one with Ray was proper scary....

i do love Tim's films though, bloody brilliant...

Have you seen tim burton's version of swenny todd??? that ain't utter genius, it's utter garbage!!! the one with Ray Winston in is soooooooooooo much better

Althou on the whole tim burton films are good, that one was a let down thou

isn't that the magic of films though? I mean when you see them as a kid you can't help but love them and you see them loads! I think kids today will love the new one as much as adults love the,old one! Theres so many classics you can't remake though! Can you imagine they remade mary poppins or Chitty chitty bang bang! There films which I love! Seeing new ones would ruin it for me!

They remade peter pan didn't they? Hmm that would be interesting to see! Again wont be as good as the original!!

Seeing charlie and the chocolate factory new version last night made me a little nostalgic ir just didn't love up to how i have it in my head!! Need to watch the old one soon though!! probably will make me so much happpierrr!!!

Roald Dahl HATED the film when it was made. If you think about it, most of his books are quite dark. I think he would like the new one.

I think Tim Burton is an utter genius, anf has captured the wiredness and darkness that was originally wrote about - he only lived up the road from me too!! He describes the village in Matilda, and its really wierd when you drive through it. hehe!!

Having said all this, i think the original is really nostalgic for everyone of a certain age!!!

films are nerver what you expect after reading the book, i have been watching terry goodkinds the seeker based on the books, its not bad its just not right. .

back to jonny depp, i think he is great and always plays the characters to the full, unfortunatly if you dont like the character

Chitty chitty bang bang and mary poppins are another two awesome films that i watched over and over again!!

went to hmv and so Watching charlie and the chocolate factory original tonight woo!! bet its not as awesome as i remember!

ALthou I like the Hannibal Lecter films the books are far better

the alan garner books are top of my 'to read' list - as soon as i can afford them ;)
